I saw this over at Brandy's, it's another rendition of the Friday Five
Quote lyrics:
1) That remind you of your first serious relationship
"One Boy One Girl" Collin Raye
One boy, one girl - two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled - they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world
Revolved around one boy - and one girl
Donald was/is my first serious relationship, this is our song. :)
2) That should be track #1 on the soundtrack of your life
Several came to mind...but this one covers it beautifully. Blessed by Martina McBride
I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones that love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed
3) That lift your spirits when you hear them
Smile by New Song
I smile when I think about,
the way you've turned my life around.
I smile when I think about
the happiness in you I found.
I'm so amazed at what your love has done,
and when I think the best is yet to come...
I smile
4) From the most underrated band you love
I don't listen to any really obscure stuff, so I can't think of anything.
5) From the last song you heard on the radio/Launchcast/mp3 playlist.
You Raise Me Up --Selah's version (do I even need to post any lyrics?)
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

It's quite...oh and I'm a dork. :)
Do you hear that? Well of course you don't. But let me tell you it is 10:56 and the only thing I hear in this house is the AC running. Donald just took the boys to the park, when I hope he runs about half of their energy out. :) But hey it's Friday, I may run to Blockbuster before D heads to work and grab a few movies for them and have movie night complete with a totally chocolate dinner (anyone know that reference???) Ok, so I wouldn't let them have only chocolate...but I may go the junk/fun food route. :)
Speaking of kids shows (um, there's a hint (duh) as to the above reference) Does anyone get Discovery Kids channel? We sometimes watch their morning shows on Ready Set Learn. I love the show Peep. The theme song is what first endeared me to the show. Here's the dorky part. I um, wanted to um, have the Peep song as my ringtone. ROTFLOL. I did, and I do. Only I don't suppose there is a big push for the Peep ringtone cause it's not available. BUT, remember (well probably not cause that was when I was first blogging so you can read HERE)we have those camera phones. The ones I still really don't see the point in having. I mean who needs a camera in their cell phone? Well I don't know, but who needs a TV built into their refrige (have you see those???). Ok anyway I digress. I took my nifty camera phone this morning and snapped a picture of Peep while it was on. And so now, I have a Peep background on my phone. No, it's not the ringtone, but it's kinda feeding into my whole desire to have Peep involved with my phone. LOL
Ok, now for those of you still reading, can you believe you just wasted two minutes of your life reading about Peep and my cell phone??? You'll never get that two minutes back. :) But I'm going to do even more later today...I'll share my phone background and you'll get to see my nifty phone charm I mentioned a while back too. :)
It's like I told Dana when I was chatting with her during the blogathon. See that right there ---> .

Have a good day, yall. I'm off to enjoy the quiet it won't last much longer. :)

Oh man...
Today was loooooooooong. I got a lot accomplished but the boys got no nap. Did you hear that. The boys got no nap. So, yeah, three boys + no nap = a miserable, cranky, ever ready for meltdown evening. And so they did, meltdown. But they played in the shower, got lots of snuggles and then promply feel asleep within a few minutes of their heads hitting the pillow.
Now I'm hearing the celebration concert at the DNC and waiting for Donald to get home. I can't believe tomorrow is Friday. Not that it really counts Donald has to work so we get to have our weekend in the middle of the week next week...but hey yall get to have a weekend, so enjoy it. :)
Oh and because I'm a snoopy snoop, how did you find my blog? I love that yall are reading, and now I'm curious just who is reading. So take a second to give me a hello. I'll be your friend for life. :)

Running Behind...
Whew, I've been up since 7 a.m. and I still feel like I'm running behind. LOL Today is catch up day. Donald has been off for the last two days. Today I have laundry to do (Hi Liz LOL) and I've got to run and get Elijah some diapers before Donald heads to work at 1:00. I've spent the morning prepping for school, getting stuff printed out and folders set up etc. I still have some more to do, but it's all coming together. We will start school August 30. Wow. Kindergarden. But for now, this house calls. I've got to floormate the downstairs and vaccum the upstairs. And dust. And do catch up, because as usual I did little on Donald's days off and now I have to get everything back in some sense of order. So I must be off. Hope yall have a great day. More from me later tonight. :)

It's Wednesday...
and you know what that means...homework
What areas of housework are you willing to let slide? What's "negotiable," as far as you are concerned? How long are you usually willing (and able) to let it go?
Um, baseboards. I'm pretty good about keeping the bathrooms done. I do them when I clean the bathrooms each day. But the others go for a few weeks until I notice them collecting dust and I take care of them. Another thing is laundry. Of course this only goes two days at the most, and I always think, ''why didn't I just do a couple of loads each day instead of having 8 loads to do to catch up?''

Wings
Daniel woke up and wanted a paper airplane. Here's where I admit I really stink at making paper airplanes. But if you give my boys paper airplanes they will literally play for hours. Anyway, Donald usually keeps them supplied with flyers. But not today. Daddy is at work and they are stuck with my lack of ability. Well, my lack of ability and the internet. :) I just went HERE and made THIS.
FUN. I'm no longer unable to make paper airplanes. And when they are deemed 'the best little airplanes'' (as in "Daddy makes the best big airplanes, momma and you make the best little airplanes") well that's success. Right?

Edited to add...
And the toilet overflowed.
blech
But I will say the boys are down (and have been for a while) I got to snuggle with Elijah while reading Galatians and I will say that my spirit is refreshed. The toilet incident only caused me to remember the frustration from the last few days, when I should have focused on the source of my JOY that I had just spent time reading about earlier.
Flesh.
Still learning.
Oh and (because for today I crown him ''super hubby'') Donald picked me up a Diet Coke w/Lime when he went for milk this a.m. Almost perfect. Not grateful, you say? Well the drink is tasty. But for it to be perfect it has to be floating around in a ton of baby ice. :)

Snippity, Snappity, grumble, grunt....
It's just one of those days. Heck it's a carry over from yesterday. And really I don't know what's up. But the fact that baby boy has decided to he is going to say NO NO NO NO to everything, OH, and he's thinks it will be cute for him to start the terrible two's three months early. The whole NO, while swinging his arms and flopping down to the floor. And the older two, yesterday on the way home from church, I nixed Spiderman cartoons, movies, coloring books, drawings, role playing and references for ONE WEEK. I am Spiderman'ed (Spidermanned? who cares...) out. I need a break. LOL This morning though I woke to kids having the nerve to ask for breakfast. What's up with that? I birthed you. I nursed you for over a year. Do I always have to be the one providing the food? (LOL really that's just sarcasm folks, I feed my kids, regularly and without complaint.) Anyway so downstairs to realize we have NO milk. I forgot to tell Donald to bring some home. And thus began my day, or the carry over of my grumpiness from yesterday into today. Now we're approaching quiet time and I plan to try to find a better attitude while they rest. If it's quite here for here for the rest of the day. I'm just choosing to not to share my toxicity with yall. ;) Oh and Donald is off tomorrow and Wednesday so we'll be doing the out and about things. So mostly fly by posts I'm sure.
Finally,(even when I'm grumpy I can still be cordial lol) I just wanted to thank you all for reading. I really appreciate hearing from you when you comment and I enjoy sharing your life as I read your journals and blogs. :)

Running With Honor

Above is a picture of Mike McNaughton of Denham Springs, LA. He stepped on a land mine in Afghanistan Christmas 2002. President Bush came to visit the wounded in the hospital. He told Mike that when he could run a mile that they would go on a run together. True to his word, he called Mike every month or so to see how he was doing. Well, last week they went on the run, 1 mile with the president. Not something you'll see in the news, but seeing the president taking the time to say thank you to the wounded and to give hope to one of my best friends was one of the greatest/best things I have seen in my life. It almost sounds like a corny email chain letter, but God bless him.

So what are you doing today?
You really should go over to Dana's and send her some love and support (and ,well, general harassment wouldn't be bad either, since she's gotta have something to keep her up until 8 a.m. tomorrow. :)

For Which It Stands...
[Let me start by saying, this is my blog and therefore my opinion. I do not in anyway think everyone thinks like me nor agrees with me. That is the beauty of living in America, we are free to think whatever we want. We are free to live out our lives based on those thoughts. We are free to change out thoughts midstream and go in an entirely different direction. I enjoy reading others opinions, I intentionally frequent liberal political websites and expose myself to the ''other side'' so that I can hear their arguments and views. I may be conservative, but I'm not myopic. The GOP is a far cry from being flawless. Also, let me restate here, that this is my opinion. I don't claim to be the most knowledgeable person on the planet. I don't claim to know the mind of anyone other than myself. Let's remember I'm a housewife, I change diapers for a living. Take the post from that perspective. I welcome comments, ones that are vastly different from my perspective. I actually enjoy hearing the other side of what I think from a different perspective. But I don't do well with condescension, or just being mean. We're all adults, we all have vocabularies that can converse in ways that can show respect for each other. With that said:]
This is an email I sent to my mom's group on Yahoo back in 2001. (Sept. 11, 2001 was Nathan's 3rd birthday btw)
That email pretty much summed up my feelings then and it continues to echo my feelings to this day. Sure there is raw emotion in that email, but while I have a more clear perspective and more information about the ''nameless faceless enemy'' the sentiment is still the same.. I was not personally touched by the 9/11 attacks, in that I didn't have any relative or friend who lost their lives. I well remember the pain and sadness that overwhelmed me. I cannot imagine (nor would I pretend to say that I could) the pain of those personally touched that day. But here we stand, now, almost 3 years later and America has lost that feeling, that unity we chose to have based on Sept. 11th. I know all the arguments. Really I do. I've heard them. I know folks think we shouldn't have gone into Iraq. I know many, many young men and women have lost their lives in this cause. I know we haven't hit the motherload regarding WMD's (the whole faulty intelligence, or did we even need WMD's to justify our going in is a whole nother post). See I know I fall into that group of ''dangerous'' folks. You know the folks that think you should be able to own a gun if you want to (and finish reading: I also think it is personal responsibility to teach proper gun safety and to not allow CHILDREN to play with guns. Guns are a tool. Yes, they kill people. [But I don't think accessibility to guns is the reason for the violence in society. I think, maybe that goes back to parents abdicating their responsibility to raise their children with any kind of boundaries, allowing them to have access to the internet and violent movies/music/video games at will, and giving them no moral compass with which to guide their lives. But again, that's another post.] and that is it our right and our job to defend our country from both enemies seen and unseen. See, my husband served almost 9 years in service to our country. He now works in Homeland Security. I've been through deployments. My husband has been gone for months upon months at a time. But my husband volunteered to do that. See he joined the all volunteer ARMY. No one made him join. No one drafted him. No one tricked him (well, lol, beyond that general recruiter fluff you are fed; and only military folks will fully get that reference) into joining. While no one likes to think of going to war, or fighting. It's kind of an understood thing military=front line of defense. I don't think anyone in our current military service marches around to the cadence ''kill, kill, blood makes the grass grow'' . I'm sure many of them would rather be home, than hanging out in 120 degree heat. They are doing their job, even if they don't 'enjoy' it and for that I am thankful. I knew an ARMY Ranger once and at the time he was on drill sergeant rotation. He would tell of breaking down during formation because some new recruit didn't have their BDU's fixed in line with regulation. I of course balked at his tantrum and told him as much. He responded ''exactly how am I supposed to trust him with an M16 if I can't trust him to button his BDU's correctly'' Needless to say I shut up. :) But I digress. I'm so frustrated with America and even with our current administration concerning Homeland Security. Let me emphatically say I don't feel any safer necessarily today than I felt Sept. 10, 2001 before the tragedy. You know what I feel? I feel more aware. See now I know people will fly planes into buildings with no regard. I don't think the TSA or HS has made a huge amount of progress in keeping our skies safe. See because we are so concerned with being politically correct, we don't want to offended a terrorist by thinking he might be a terrorist. I'm not going to pretend America has it all tied up. Our countries past is littered with bad choices. But really for me,I don't get it. See on September 11th 2001, terrorist flew planes into buildings killing over 3000 people. These terrorist were of a certain culture and race. Does that make everyone of that race guilty. Well, no. But does that mean we should go out of our way not to offend anyone of that race and not potentially profile them? [I know, I know, I'm white, I have privilege of parenthood, yada yada yada] See for me Sept. 11 should have thrown etiquette out the window. Profile everyone. It is amazing to me that if you wear orthotic shoes you will not be asked to take them off. Doesn't that seem like quite the loophole? You can't take knitting needles or nail clippers. But you can have a walking cane to bludgeon someone with? Now before you send me emails about so and so with a bad knee. My mother has severe RA (rheumatoid arthritis). She wears a leg brace everyday of her life. She uses a cane for assistance at times. It takes my mom a good 10 minutes to get her shoes on each day. While yes it would be annoying and bothersome for my mom to take off her shoe and brace. I know that she would...cause see, my mom, she isn't a terrorist. [And yes my parents do fly often] To think that they will stop a 105 yr old woman and wand her making sure there are no explosives, while letting 25 people who very well may be innocent, but fit the profile go by for the sake of being PC makes me crazy. Its like this, if your innocent, you are innocent. Yes, you may feel profiled. Yes you may be annoyed. Yes it may be an inconvenience. But when it's all said and done you get on the plane and fly to your destination. By having these quotas and limits to who and what can be profiled, really we are just kidding ourselves to think we are accomplishing anything. I'm sick to death of trying not to offend people. Good heavens, remember those planes hitting those towers? Remember the Pentagon? Remember that field in Pennsylvania? Remember that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach? Remember that deep, dark sadness that enveloped you for days afterward? Remember seeing a plane flying overhead and being robbed of the innocence of just watching the contrail without also having to battle thoughts of ''what if?'' Until we make some very deliberate and potentially very offending decisions about profiling I'm afraid those visions, that sick feeling, that hurt are all just on the horizon, again

Subject: realizing reality and having to vent
I was just watching CMT and broke down as Martina McBride sang the National Anthem. I think I'm getting passed the shocked stage and moving into the anger ... and while fear isn't in the 5 stages, I'm defiantly there too. I cannot get passed the mind that could be so twisted and full of hate that they would elaborately scheme and plan an attack on innocent people. I sat here thinking some momma isn't able to hug her babies tonight, a wife is just wishing she could scold her hubby for leaving out dirty socks and the emptiness that must be in full force on those that just want to hear something, anything about their loved ones. I have never been a pacifist...I'm not so bent that I'm militia mindset either--- but the whole concept of ''just fighting this war with peace'' is so beyond me right now...I cannot even BEGIN to wrap my mind around it. WHAT? So your saying that we should just say, ''0oooh that was a very bad thing you did you, nameless, faceless coward'', we understand that you were having a bad day and felt the need to express your anger in ways that are not acceptable...we see your lack of judgment, we understand that it was not really meant to be soooo destructive, so we're just going have a big old candle light vigil and hope that our President and congress won't do anything so rash as to retaliate or shoot a gun in your direction (I'm sorry I had to turn CNN when they were covering the vigil ''promoting peace'' PLEASE!!!) Can we never be safe again...I'm all about playing fair. I'm all about peace and unity...but when someone jumps in the sandbox, and tears down the castle, then I say, remove them from the playground...if you can't play nice...then hey, you just have to deal with the consequences. I am not promoting an unplanned, fly off the handle and just start bombing folks approach. I think we need to make sure we identify the enemy, and then take appropriate steps. Until we began to show that WE ARE THE USA, we walk quiet and carry a big stick (and the stick is OUT) then these folks will continue to threaten us. They right now control us...they've closed our airports, federal buildings. They've taken away our entertainment and more than anything they've violated our peace of mind. They hate the U.S., they hate peace, they hate anything that isn't them, so while I think it sounds all pretty and flowery to say ''lets fight this war with weapons of peace'' I'd like to also point out that those idiots would gladly walk right up to your peace loving self and blow you and your kids away without thinking, much less thinking twice. They aren't reasonable nor do they want to be reasoned with...they are killers, they have one agenda, and let me tell you PEACE ain't it.
Warmly~
Cheri : )

Warmly~
Cheri : )
Be forewarned...
I have a post brewing. It's just waiting for Donald to be off to work and the boys to settle into quite time and then I shall rant. The rant will cover homeland (lack of) security and political correctness and all manner of other stuff that is brewing in my head. If you think we're safer today then we were Sept. 10, 2001 or if you subscribe to the line of thinking that if we'll be nice and play fairly then everyone else will to. Then really you don't want to come back for this...because I'm bound to frustrate you with my narrowminded, FOX News brainwashed line of thinking.
More soon...

Baby Weight...
What's your plans?
The boys are finishing up breakfast and watching Rolie Polie Olie. Donald is still snuggled in bed. I've done pilates and am nursing what could be a perfect cup of coffee. Once Donald is up we'll be off...plan to be out of the house all day again. :) I hope yall have a great day. I promise a bit more than fly by post once Donald is back at work tomorrow. :)
Have a good one.

Georgia on my Mind
Nathan has asked everyday for the last few days, when we are going to visit Georgia. Daniel sat on the couch yesterday and looked at pictures of my Dads chickens (the boys always collected eggs and fed the chickens with my daddy) and our dog (Kudzu) that now lives at my parents house, and their other dog Missy. We are doing our best to head home in October, the boys will be so happy to see family and old friends.
Thunder
Currently it sounds like thunder upstairs. Why, you ask? Well because my housebound boys are restless. They are having ''knee races'' from room to room. What are knee races, you ask? Well, knee races are what you do, when your momma tells you ''no running in the house.'' See, it's not disobedience, really. I mean they aren't ''running'' they are simply going really fast on their knees, and it's impossible to run on your knees, right?
[edited to say I just on demanded (hee hee ) them some cartoons from cartoon network, maybe 25 mins of semi peace and quite]
Anyway, tomorrow is Donald's off day. And you can bet we will be OUT OF THIS HOUSE. We have not left since Thursday of last week. Six whole days in a 1200 sq ft apartment, the walls are closing in on me. :) I suppose we'll head down to the zoo or maybe out the the beach. I don't care as long as we are out and about all day long. :)

Stranger Danger
Liz talked about something Jake did the other morning...this morning I had my own little scare.
So this morning I was vacumming upstairs, Donald was upstair reading. Nathan and Daniel were sitting at the dining room table coloring and Elijah was playing with toys. I came down and Daniel informs me ''we let that worker guy in''. So I look out the window and I see where they have the sprinklers set out. So I'm thinking the boys were watching our maintainence guys work out on the grounds (we live in a gated complex with lots of flowers and palms etc) Um, NO, my 3 yr old unlocked the doorknob lock and TWO dead bolts and let the maintainence guy in to change our air conditioner filter. OH MY STARS. Do you have any idea how many times we have discussed stranger danger? I almost always say ''don't answer the door, don't answer the phone'' before I run upstairs. I've emphatically told them over and over and yet, because Daniel recognized one of of maintainence men, he opened the door and let him in to change the filter. Nathan was quick to say ''but momma I'm the oldest brother and I will protect them'' Such a sweet and protective big brother, he doesn't even realize how powerless he would be in a real situation. Anyway, so Donald and I both went over the rules again. Reminded them to NOT OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANYONE unless Momma or Daddy is there to tell them it's ok. Frightening.

Am I the only one...
--that likes those shirts on the KFC commericals?
--that feels like Bath and Body Works is not so fun to shop at any longer? I mean they still have my standards (country apple, sun rippend raspberry) but they seem to be going though new frangrances on a fairly swift cycle. And the newer lines are (or seem to me) to be aimed at tweens/teens with the packaging and groovy patterns. And then I don't know it just doesnt have that homey feel anymore when you walk it...it seems to 'modern' or sterile or soemthing? Me thinks I've over thought this whole Bath and Body Works thing...what do you think? LOL
(as a side: I went into Victoria's Secret and tried some of their line, it was the body mist in Passionate Kisses ~nice~ only when I went back to get some (the next weekend) the store was packed (some super sale) and stuff was everywhere, misshelved and out of sorts. Anyway, I didn't see any and didn't want to wait around for a sales associate...came home to check the website and it's not even listed. Sadly I think I found a new favorite scent just in time for it to be discontinued. )

All by myself...
Yes, I went all by myself to get groceries this morning. Now, see that may not seem like a big deal. But when you are a stay at home mom...oh it is, it is. :) Don't get me wrong I'll run out to grab milk and bread or I'll run to Target and grab something here and there. But I have never gone to the grocery store alone since having kids. But with Daniel and Elijah still in quarantine they couldn't go. (For what its worth, we usually all go grocery shopping...yes Donald included -- sometimes he'll take Nathan or Daniel (or both) and they'll get half the list (and of course since I am surrounded by testosterone it always turns into a ''lets beat momma'' competition) and I'll get the other half. Other times we just all do it together and the boys help look for the various things we need and mark them off the list. Anyway, Donald didn't want to get up at crack o' dawn thirty and go get groceries, so off I went. Now, our pantry is full and that dreaded task is done for a couple more weeks.
I suppose this is where I break into the chorus :
(sung to the tune of that ol' camp favorite "I have decided to follow Jesus")
I have decided to follow Atkins,
I have decided to follow Atkins,
I have decided to follow Atkins,
No turning back, No turning back.
Though none go with me,
Still I will low carb.
Though none go with me,
Still I will low carb.
Though none go with me,
Still I will low carb.
No turning back, No turning back.
I suppose too, for accuracy, I should point out that honestly I'm not following ''Atkins''. I am cutting out white sugar and white flour. So lean meats, lots of veggies and fruits and whole grain breads and pastas. It is in essence a low carb plan (with the whole grains as opposed to white pasta and breads) and since Atkins is synonymous with low carb I decided to place it in my ditty. I mean the song would have lost it's snap if I wrote "I have decided to cut out sugar and white flour", now wouldn't it?
I also am committing myself to exercise 6 or 7 days a week, starting today. So when the boys are down for quite time I will be doing Pilates. I keep waiting to be inspired to get into better shape. I keep waiting and well, we all know it's not going to happen. It's a choice I have to make, and I'll have to recommit everyday for the rest of my life. Today is just the first day in that journey.
Well, it's nearing quiet time so I need to go up and get the guys ready.
Hope your Monday is treating you well.

Rocket Power
I couldn't think of anything nifty to put up there, and the boys were (they have now gone upstairs to play) watching the Rocket Power movie on Nick :)
We didn't got to church this morning. With Daniel and Elijah both being contagious and all. Donald and Nathan did go out to breakfast and then ran to Wal-Mart to pick up a few much needed things. (think: milk and bread) They came home bringing lunch for Daniel, Elijah and I and then Donald got dressed and headed to work.
Now the boys are up playing in their rooms. I made those no bake oatmeal cookies earlier today. You know the fool proof ones that are *so* easy . Well I've made them probably a million times in my life but well today they are just gooey. They taste fine, but I had to put them on a saucer and let the boys eat them with a fork. ROTFLOL {I hear since Martha's got to do time, they are needing a new domestic guru...think I'll fit the bill? I mean if you can mess up those cookies, that's like a whole new level of ineptitude, right?} Anyway, I'm off to work on the house a bit and cook some supper.

Sunday Brunch
As seen over at Melyssa's the Sunday Brunch
1. Do you or should you wear glasses or contact lenses?
****I wear glasses currently. I've worn glasses since I was 18 months old. I did wear contacts from the time I was 16-26 but went back to glasses after that and have stayed with them.
2. What is your favorite type of footwear?
****sandals, my current favorites are my Eddie Bauer slides
3. What is your worst habit?
****inconsistancy/procrastination
4. Are you an average, so-so or very good cook?
****I guess average. I enjoy cooking and cook well, but I'm not doing any Marth-esk recipes that require foreign ingredients and 3 days of prep. LOL
5. Do you spend more time watching television, listening to music or surfing the internet?
****Of the three, probably internet? But I read more than any of them.

Lyrics:Burdened & Convicted
Who Will Be Jesus
He came home from work last night, to find that she is gone,
Now He's spending his first Sunday sitting in the pew alone,
There are whispers all around him, His heart breaks in two,
He's wondering who will reach out and help him make it through,
She has a reputation like the woman at the well ,
The only love she ever knew was the kind she buys and sells
But her thirsty heart is searching for a love that will be true,
The Savior cries for her to see Himself in me and you,
Who Will be Jesus to her?
Who'll show the love that's commanded in His word?
Will she see in us the mighty God we serve?
Who will Be Jesus to her?
Wonded People everywhere, and when they look at us, do they see Jesus there?
Who Will be Jesus to Them?
Who'll show the love that restores Them again?,
Oh, They do not need a judge, They need a friend.
Who will Be Jesus toThem? Who will be Jesus to them?
Bruce Carroll
He'll Do Whatever It Takes
You don't know just how far away from home I've been,
She said as she looked into my eyes.
Could it be I've strayed beyond mercy's outstretched hand,
And now His grace no longer stoops to hear my cry?
See, I just wanna know, tell me how far will He go,
Will He still reach for me in spite of where I've been?
And I told her
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes His grace reaches lower than your worst mistakes
And His love will run farther and you can't run away, my friend
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes
He'll do whatever it takes
They say His love is patient that he always hears a prayer,
That His love will follow you despite the miles.
But my best years of life are wasted, why would He even really care?
What have I to give that He would find worthwhile?
See I just want to know, tell me how far will He go?
Will He still reach for me in spite of who I am?
Let me tell you
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes,
His grace reaches lower than your worst mistakes.
And His love will run farther and you can't run away, my friend
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes He'll do whatever ...
He'll just keep reaching until He finds a way to bring you back where you belong
Come on back home
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes
His grace reaches lower than your worst mistakes
And His love will run farther and you can't run away, my friend
He'll do whatever, whatever it takes He'll do whatever, whatever it takes

Something on a Saturday...
So, yeah, I'm washing my bedding again. That makes three days in a row.
Daniel came into our bed at some point last night. At some point after
he'd obviously drank several swigs of the Dr. Pepper Donald had brought
home to me after work. The drink was on my nightstand...and Daniel
drank and drank. He then climed into bed and later peed. So, yeah,
washing the bedding again. =)
Not a bad Saturday in the general sense. The boys are down for quite
time. Nathan is reading and Elijah and Daniel are sleeping. So I'm
sneaking a few minutes on the computer. I talked to my mom today. We
actually got to have more than a ten minute conversation and so that
was nice. I miss my family thats for sure.
A 13 year old boy drowned while Donald was at work Thursday, they found
his body yesterday. Thing was, his family wasn't trying to cross, they
were simply out there pinicking and playing around and the boy got into
the undercurrent. Sad. I have a bag of clothes washed and ready to send
to work with Donald. For those babies that cross with nothing on but a
diaper.
Ok, I'm going to go and take this opportunity to finish putting
together my new prayer notebook layout. Hope yall are having a great
day.

This is the day that doesn't end, yes it goes on and on my friend...
I just looked at the clock. It's only 6:30. Shouldn't it at least be bedtime now??? Today has drug by in molassas time. Elijah and Daniel are doing fine. They are eating well. I do think Elijah must be dealing with the sore throat aspect of it, because he has swallowed and gagged a few times and ended up throwing up on my bed this morning. (What fun, I'm typing about throw up) And yes, I did just wash the bed linens yesterday as a matter of fact. But never fear they have been done, yet again. I think the fact that we are housebound is what is making this day seem to last forever. We usually go to the park for about an hour each evening or we'll go to the pool. We can't leave, so the natives are restless. Currently, they had supper and are watching Discovery Kids and Elijah has passed out in my lap.
Thanks for the well wishes regarding me falling. I actually don't hurt significantly but I do feel like I fell yesterday. :)
I hope yalls weekends are shaping up nicely. We of course have nothing planned and Donald isn't off again until Wednesday of next week. So it will be more of us holed up in the apartment. I think we will make cookies and fun stuff tomorrow. Maybe that will distract them for a few minutes.

Well, my name isn't grace ...
So, yeah, I fell down the stairs today. Ouch. Nathan laughed, came to check on me, realized I might be dead and brought me the phone. LOL Honestly it wasn't nearly that dramatic, but Nathan was giggling. I took 4 advil right after and didn't really feel any oddities or anything then. Now however I am realizing that tomorrow I am going to be quite sore.
Well, I didn't want to go anywhere, anyway...
Ok, so Elijah and Daniel have that Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Really not a big deal in the general health sense, they just have to be home for the next 7-10 days. Fun times. Thankfully though they only have them on their feet. Daniel has maybe 10 blisters per foot and Elijah has 4 or so. It could be much worse. So I suppose they'll be lots of movies, snuggling and TLC going on around here for the next few days. =)

I think that got it...
After working earlier this afternoon, I was informed that my sidebar was at the bottom when viewed with IE. I didn't even check before I uploaded and sure enough it looked fairly stupid. LOL So I think I've got it fixed now. There are a couple of things ''off'' in firefox but not significantly. And if I set them correctly it looks really bad in IE. So I think this will have to be the compromise. :)
That will do for now, I suppose
There, kinda clean and crisp looking. I can't get that stats thing to be at the bottom like on the other page. But at this point, considering just how much html I don't know, I'm doing good. LOL.
Blah
Feeling kinda blah here today. I'm thinking maybe it's time for a different background? I may work on tha when the boys have quiet time in just a few.
Hope your having a good day so far. :)

Organization 101
Homework this week:
Think of the person keeping the cleanest, most organized house you know. How do they do it? What differs from their routine to yours? Do you think you could ever match them?
(If the person in mind is you, what do you think makes you different from the rest of us? Is it something that comes naturally, or do you work at it?)
Honestly, what comes to mind is stress. I have a few friends that are very type A, their homes are most always meticulously clean and if it isn't it really really really bothers them. When we were first married and had no children, I had a spotless house by default. I stayed home all day (um, and what exactly did I do with my time???) I washed my walls regularly...yes I did. I kept everything exactly as it should be, but it was more out of desire than instinct or personality. Know what I mean? See, I'm not type A at all. I don't think like that, but I don't like clutter. So I'm not naturally a sloppy person either. There are parts of FlyLady that really describe me...I do tend to have perfectionist tendencies, but don't tend to walk them out regularly. Like my house is never out of control, dishes piled up to the counter tops, loads of laundry to be done, the floors haven't been mopped in 3 weeks. But I have no real ''plan'' or lifestyle that gets those things done, on a schedule. It happens, and the house pretty much is always within a ten minute tidy of company ready. But that's where Flylady has helped me, it's helped me to organize myself into a more scheduled person. Athena was talking in her journal the other day about how their house falls apart on the weekends...that her schedule just goes out the window. I could really identify with that. Because on Donald's off days that is us. So I guess what my real struggle is, is consistency. So my goal is to be more schedule oriented without become ruled by it, or over obsessed about things a long the way.

Cookies, anyone?
The boys are winding down and getting ready for bed, when that task is completed I shall make cookies. Yummy, sugar laden, peanutty goodness cookies. And really, so yeah, this is totally not on the low carb/low sugar plan. But you know, as Scarlett O'Hara said "Tomorrow is another day."
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Cup Peanut Butter
Mix ingredients throughly and drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake in a 350* oven for 9-11 mins until edges are just golden. Remove and allow to rest for a minute or two (they are very tender). Move to cookie sheet to finish cooling. I've also done these in bar form and I've rolled them into balls and made the cookie kisses. Easy recipe, tasty cookies. My boys love love love these...both making them and eating them. :)

So Far...
We've gone to Golden Corral.
We've gone to see Spiderman 2.
We've gone to Applebees.
We've gone to Church.
We've gone to Taco Palanque
We've gone to the mall.
We've gone to Walmart.
We've gone to ToysRus.
We've gone to Target.
We've gone to Burger King.[kids]
We've gone to Jack in the Box.[D & I]
Tomorrow we have plans to head out to South Padre Island. We were going to go to the zoo today after church but there was an enormous amount of folks there. As in both parking lots were full and the line to get in was wrapped down the sidewalk. We have a season's pass so really, we can always go, it wasn't worth fighting the crowd today.
Hope yall had a nice weekend.

Life is just a tire swing...

Anybody else get the Jimmy Buffet reference in that title? If so you are a true Parrot Head. We went to the park today, and the boys were on the tireswing. They like to go around and around and around till they are so dizzy their eyes cross. Today they were in the midst of spinning and Daniel declares ''spin me till my dizzy's are out''. If that ain't childhood I don't know what is. I am blessed.
Life was just a tire swing
'Jambalaya' was the only song I could sing
Blackberry pickin', eatin' fried chicken
And I never knew a thing about pain
Life was just a tire swing
--Buffett, "Life Was Just a Tire Swing''
This is why I do the reading to the kids around here...
Ok, so I went up to wake Donald up. Elijah comes in and brings this book with him. Now, this is currently Elijah's favorite book, so we've read it about 642 time in recent past. (keep in mind each page has a character and a simple statement involving a color i.e., ''Lofty lifts blue pipes'') The following is Donalds rendition.
Wendy has a purple eye.
Bob hit her with a brown bat.
There will be no more line dancing for those two.
I should add here that Donald has always asserted that Bob and Wendy have way more than a business relationship...the episode where they go line dancing only fed his theory. ROTFLOL
I"m sorry but it took me about 5 minutes to recover from laughing.
[edited to add: I feel like I should clarify that I in no way think domestic violence is funny.

Talking Hands...
Elijah is officially signing :) It's so funny to me, by your third baby you are waaay more laid back than you would have ever allowed yourself to be with your first child. Although Nathan talked early (sentences at 14 months i.e., Daddy go to wok /work/) so I really never had to contemplate about his speech and language abilities. Daniel on the other hand, was much slower in talking. But after talking with my pediatrician at his two year well 'baby' I was put as ease. See, Nathan did all the talking for him. Which is common in closely spaced siblings. So really why should Daniel bother to try to talk if Nathan has his back? Daniels language development was at or above his age, but it was just his speech that was not ''kicked in'' (language is the understanding of words and such, speech is *saying* the words--granted that's in the most simple definition of speech and language). Now at almost 4 Daniel has conquered speech with a vengeance. You would have never known his speech was delayed, because see he now makes it a goal each day to make up for all those days when he was a wee one and didn't use his daily quota of words. LOL And that brings us to Elijah. Elijah does have words. But he too, isn't talking to the extent Nathan was at this age (and no I'm not necessarily comparing him to Nathan). I visit a message board of babies born in Oct 2002 and there are many on that board that have expansive vocabularies, are stringing words together...heck some have even used the potty. LOL So I've been using some signs with Elijah here and there. I did the same thing with Daniel. Daniel never really took to the signing, he after all had Nathan at his whim to do his talking and requesting why should he bother to learn a sign? (Can you tell which of my children is laid back and easy going???) Anyway, Elijah has decided today that ''hey, I can do that, and it gets results'' so he's be signing ''up/hold me'' ''more'' ''drink'' ''yes'' and ''no'' (although he says the last two also). Yay
It's the little things in life...
Donald came in this moring bringing a 44oz thirst buster of Diet Dr. Pepper with him for me. That my friends offically made it a perfect Friday. :)
I got the boys a 100 piece puzzle yesterday (do you really need to ask what it's of) we put it together yesterday and then again this morning. Both times Daniel (3) has assumed the role of supervisor. Nathan and I are busily piecing it together and Daniel is peppering our progress ''good job, yall'', ''can't yall do it quicker'', & ''yall need to work together'' Upon completion Daniel was very quick to show Daddy what *we* (meaning he too...lol) did. :)
Three children, all night, their own beds. :) Woot
Donald is off Saturday, Sunday and Monday and doesn't have to be to work till 2 on Tuesday. It looks like we are going to have a fun weekend.

Sweet Dreams
Night before last I dreamed I drank a koolaid jammer. :) Upon waking yesterday morning my first thought (in that twilight sleep) was ''oh maaaaaaaaaaaaan it had all that sugar''
Thus is the waking and dream life of someone who has recently given up sugar. LOL
I assume the dream was prompted from the google search on the koolaid bags I'd done before bed.

Things you don't do...
1. You don't take your 20 month old to McDonalds (or any other public place for that matter) in only a tee shirt and diaper.
2. You don't let said diaper be sagging because it is full of pee (the diapers say 18-25 lbs, not that they will hold 18-25lbs.
3. You don't let your tee shirt and sagging diaper clad 20 month old play on the kiddie equipment with a sucker in their mouth.
Lets review, number one is just a personal peeve of mine. How hard is it to slip on some shorts??? Number two is gross and unnecessary. And number three is a choking hazard.

It's not here...
I'm getting an amazing amount of hits for ''koolaid pocketbook s'' Um, now I shall have to google that myself...are they really making purses out of koolaid packages??? Hey they made braclets out of gum wrappers...remember those???
ok ok ok it's almost 2 a.m. I've got to google and go to bed. ;)
[edited to add]
Here's a picture of one of the cute little bags.
And here's some instructions I found on how to make them.
And here's a site that sells them premade.

Tomorrow is another day...
Never did get to the post office/UPS store. I fixed lunch the boys both napped (which is rare) and they both slept for a lot longer than usual. By the time they got up it was close to 4, and we eat by 5:30, so I couldn't go mail the stuff off and have supper ready. So now I have something to do tomorrow. LOL
As a side note:
What do you do for 2 boys who are into all things Spiderman...well if you are a homeschooling mom you do a unit study on Spiders. LOL Which is why I'm posting at 1 a.m., I'm doing research. :)
Stuff:
I took the Google search box off. We switched over to Firefox and it(meaning my layout, because of the Google box) was all weird in that browser. Was anyone even using it? If it was huge help to someones life, I'll try to figure out how to disply it without being all wonky, other wise, it's offically nixed.

Sniffling, Sneezing, Coughing, Aching....
Donald came in this morning telling me about this.
We have been very blessed in that our kids just don't get sick that often. By that I mean they go to the doctor each year for their checkup, and maybe once a year for a sickness that warrants antibiotics. Since we've moved here they've had two ''colds'' but now I'm beginning to think it is more allergy related than colds. Anyway, I've not used OTC cough meds, really. Nathan when he gets sick and even now with the allergies it always immediately goes to his chest and he has congestion. He always takes liquid Albuteral and Phenergan vc/with codeine syrup from the Dr. I have some of the Robitussin Pediatric Night Relief upstairs that I used last fall when they got sick, it worked well at taming the night time coughing but after checking it has the dextromethorphan. It also had two other active ingredients listed. I'm assuming the other two ingredients must have done some good. But then again it could be the fact that I bathe them with this, slather them up with this and prop them up on two pillows and run the humidifier when they get all coughy like that too. Interesting study.

Table Manners
I got the boys lunch all squared away and they were eating. I'm busying around tidying the kitchen. (or I may have been checking my email) I hear Elijah saying ''momma, momma, momma'' so I turn and he is literally asleep sitting in his booster chair. His eyes were closed and his head was bobbing with each ''momma''. It was hilarious. Needless to say I took him up and he is snoozing with his daddy now.
Wednesday = Homework
Do you have any major (or minor) home plans on the burner? A renovation? Painting? Landscaping? A closet redesign? What's your current home improvement priority?
Oh well...I have really done nothing here at the apartment since we moved in last November. Its a sad little domain, honestly. LOL But my thing was I was waiting on my furniture to come in (and it did at the end of May) to get started. Now, though we are heavily contemplating moving in the next few months, so I am so not motivated to start getting things all fixed up here only to take it all down in 3 months. So currently I've just been tucking $$$ away so that when we move I'll have the funds available to buy things and get our next place all spiffy. :)
On to the other exciting things:
--Donald found $100 at work last night :)
--Donald just made a huge batch of Pico (granted he's taking the majority of it to work for their pachanga, but still he'll leave some here)
--I've got to load up all of the kiddos in just a bit and head to the UPS store and mail a couple of packages, I'm preparing myself now for everything possible to go wrong. That way I wont' be surprised when everything does. LOL
I know not much of substance is going up here lately...which is amusing considering I'm getting consistent hits, lol, maybe others like me thrive on the mundane? :)
Hope yall have a good day. More later.

Monday Madness [on a Tuesday]
1. I usually clean my house on a little each day, or about every few days.(I do the bathrooms full fledged cleaning)
2. My favorite Sunday night program to watch on television is I don't have one.
3. Monday morning I usually waking up thinking, "must.have.coffee, (but then again I wake up that way everyday)."
4. To wind down at the end of a busy day, I like to watch tv, read or get on the computer.
5. I try not to call anyone on the phone until after 9 a.m.,although I have another friend of small kids that I will call, since I know she, like me is up at the crack of dawn.lol
6. And I NEVER call anyone after 9 p.m., again I have two friends (and my oldest brother) that I will call after that time because I know they are up
7. When I don't have to get up to go to work or school, I sleep in until 7 a.m. is really late around here. lol
8. I have two telephones in my house.
9. I usually answer the phone on the second ring.
10. When I know I should be sleeping, but am having a hard time falling asleep, I usually read or watch tv.

See it's little things like this that make me happy. :) We live 20 mins from the Gulf, and we have two swimming pools here at the complex. I was always trying to keep everything together and read in a magazine about this idea. This is just a shoe organizer. I have it hanging in our laundry room and just the site of all that stuff organized in one place, makes me grin. I have all our beach towels there, the sunscreen and baby powder (a must if you are near sand), then all the boys swimsuits are rolled and in that bottom left (squashed) compartment. The other picture is of Donald's t-shirt drawer. Now see I know some of you are looking at it and thinking, yeah, um so. You also wondering why you bothered to stop by here, I mean really, it's tee shirts in a drawer, thats a whole new level of boring blogs. LOL But anyway, I read in Family Fun a few months back about this idea. Instead of folding the tee shirts and stacking them, you simply fold and then put them in, index card style. That way all the tee shirts are visable and you tend to wear more than just the top 4 or 5 over and over. :)
Assumptions and Projection
Have you ever noticed when something becomes important in someone's life they have a way of interjecting it into your life too? Now, that isn't always a bad thing, nor something they shouldn't do necessarily. It's just the assumption that because it effects them, then of course it effects you the same way. This can go from minute to major. From counting carbs to religious conviction. I think we all have the tendency within us to do this, maybe? The only thing, is when the assumption becomes a judgment. "Well I know how I can get in that area, and it's just a dead end for me'' [Which naturally implies that if it is a dead end for them, a no way out, a sin zone, an area of lack of judgment and self control, then there is no way you could do that particular thing without it also being the same thing, with the same implications for you. I think we want everyone to be in neat little boxes. If you think like me on points a, b and c, then how can we be on different such levels of understanding on point d? And the difference is what brings out the defensiveness or insecurity. Granted no two people tend to have the exact same ideas on every given point, but there is a security in knowing you have commonality in most all things. And the thing is we are all at different points and places. What is new and enlightening to me currently may be old revelation to you. And to be so involved in my stuff, to be so blinded to the fact that, hey maybe you have already dealt with this and worked it through and you are truly ok with it and where you need to be regarding it. Well that pulls in pride. To think that I could have some big, deep, earth moving things going on and that you, you could have gotten a grasp on them before me??? That makes my world a very small place, a place where I shut out those that think differently, a place where I don't allow room for any error or a different path to the same end result. I make myself, most important and the one by whom to judge all others actions and relationships. I make myself right in my own eyes, the better carb counter, the better bible reader, the more enlightened educator, the more compassionate friend, the more righteous church goer and I stand alone. I stand alone and lonely.

Adding to the madness II
[addendum: I ran to Target to get batteries and ended up picking up Spiderman on DVD. They had it on clearance for $10. I mean really if I'm going to keep up the pace with all this Spiderman stuff, it was the logical next step, right? Anyway, I grabbed that DVD and a hotwheels car came free with the batteries so Daniel was happy and I got Donald a new computer game. All my boys are sufficiently spoiled for the day. And with that I have to get off here so that my hubby (who has to stay up all night can play his new game) G'night. ]

Happy 4th of July
Adding to the madness
I just bought Spiderman paper towels. Yes, I did. I too will be slinging webs before this is all over. :)
We tried to go by B|ockbuster and rent Spiderman it was all out, and we were obviously not the first to have that idea. The girl told Donald there had been 5 or 6 other people come in and ask for it too, they only had two copies.
We're not taking in any fireworks tonight. Daniel experienced fireworks last year at St. Mountain Park during the laser show and it is not something we want to repeat anytime soon. But for any of you not taking a show in or if you just want to goof around on line a bit more, check out this. Fun
Off to watch yet another round of Spiderman cartoons.
More later.
Fun

Watching shadows grow...
Saturday
--I was up till 2 a.m. talking on the phone and laughing my head off
--Elijah woke 4 times during that conversation
--He woke 5-6 more time the rest of the night, staying up 15-20 mins each time
--It was 95* at 11 am
--It is a holiday weekend
--We went to the mall
--We went to Sam's
--We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch
--I think there were 400,000,000 people in Brownsville today
--Did I mention I got little sleep last night?
--I still have to go to walmart for diapers/wipes/pullups/cold meds
--I'm shooting for an 8:00 bedtime
--A girl can dream right?
More later...hope your Saturday is great. :)

A date with Spidey =)
First you have to read this
Funny :)
And now I'm off to watch the Spiderman marathon they have on Toon Disney tonight. My boys are beyond excited. They got spiderman toys in their Burger King meals. That combined with their tshirts, coloring books and various rounds of practicing web slinging, my boys I believe think they *are* Spiderman. :)
Hope yall have a great Friday night and that you have a fun and safe weekend. Donald is off for the next two nights. So if I'm not around that will explain it. :)
Be safe.

Relax
Perspective
I get a monthly newsletter/child development thingy from Focus on the Family.I was reading it today and came across this and thought it was worth sharing. Granted we all *know* this...but I love the word picture it provides.
"Which handle will you pick up?"
The article went on to say that we can't control our circumstances but we can control what we focus on and how we interpret events. And that we need to look to God to help us pick the right handle.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. :)
