Leaving on a jet plane
I really didn't mean not to post :) My parents just left a bit ago to fly back to Atlanta. The boys are still enjoying all the Christmas loot and asking when Gran and Poppy are coming back. Elijah is down for his nap and when Daniel finishes lunch we're headed upstairs for quite time for the older two. Maybe I can sneak in a nap too :) More later today ....

It's the most wonderful time of the year
Today we celebrated Christmas with my parents. The boys were just thrilled with their stuff. My parents are so good with this type of thing. They always try to get stuff that the kids really want and this year was no different. My parents always give us cash for the holidays too. Well this thing my dad does is he buys chocolate covered cherries and then makes a tiny slit in the plastic and sticks our money inside. Well the first year he did his I was like ''ewwwwwwwww yuck, I don't want these'' and was trying to hand them off meanwhile one of my brothers opened theirs and was like ''um yeah, I think you do want these.'' :) Anyway, so now I've gotta make my Christmas list and go shopping. :) Yay.

Friday Five on a Sunday
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
****Not snow so much, but I do like it to ''feel'' like Christmas. Which means cold weather. But since I now live in the land of perpetual summer, I'll just have to crank the AC up and pretend it's cold. LOL I do remember having my first white Christmas when Donald was stationed in Kansas. It was beautiful.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
****I'd love to have a big ol cabin somewhere to accomadate lots of guest to include mostly family.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
****Yes, we open one gift Christmas eve, to exclude the three gifts they get Christmas morning. The boys always get new pj's to sleep in Christmas eve also. We are starting a new traditon of having lasagna on Christmas eve this year (per Donalds tradition growing up) and we're also going to have tamales on Christmas day (per the area of the country we live in and the tradition) We bake sugar cookies with our nativity cut outs. Lots and lots of traditions around here.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
****We always give to the salvation army bell ringers...always, even if we go to walmart 3 times in one day LOL my boys are all about putting money in the red bucket. :) We donate through our church and we plan to start adopting a family each year to provide a meal and presents to.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
****Everything I want this year is practical. But one Christmas I really want a 3 stone ring :)

Things to note:
pot roast in the crock pot with ginger ale = tasty
sweet tea with lime = a good thing
the look on my kiddos faces when my parents walked through our door = priceless
Yes, my parents are here visiting. :) They flew in this afternoon from Atlanta, landed in Corpis Cristi and drove down. They are actually staying out on South Padre Island so we'll be going out there a few nights to stay and the boys will live on the beach. They absolutely love it out there. But again, it just seems WRONG that its in the 70's and 80's in December.
Can anyone tell me why every year I ask for a magic laundry fairy and every year I am denied? I swear I do laundry a.k.a. Mt. St. Neverrest and never ever reach the peak. I am forever doing laundry in some form. Then of course I have hubby's uniforms that have to be separate (no fabric softner in the wash, no dryer sheet in the dryer and high heat dry--picky, no? LOL, just kidding) Its not that big of a deal really. I mean with the loads I do whats another one.
Anyhoo, I probably won't update for a day or so if we end up spending the night out with my parents. I'll be back Monday for sure. Hope yall have a great weekend.
Note to self...um, Christmas shop for your kids...Christmas is 13 days away. (yikes)

wooo hoo, I think I did this right. :) Now for an introduction. I'm Cheri and I turned 30 this year. I am married to Donald and we will celebrate our 8th anniversary in January. I have three little boys Nathan (5) Daniel (3) and Elijah (1). Yes, my hands are full, yes I'm busy, yes, I'm tired. LOL Just thought I go ahead and answer before you ask. I'm from Georgia originally but recently moved to South Texas (think North Mexico ;) I've also lived in Mississippi, Alabama and Kansas. I've wanted to do this for a while but am just now getting around to actually getting it started. They'll be no big drama or train wrecks here and by default there will be lots of kid talk and references. I hope you'll come back and get to know me.
